We are still awaiting the final schedule for Saturday. We are TENTATIVELY scheduled for 2 games back to back at 12pm and 1pm. Again, this is TENTATIVE and could change. The Arizona Youth Lacrosse (AYL) league has not sent out any update around games times just yet, but we are expecting them to. I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything different on this.
The Town of Glendale has issued specific Health and Safety rules for our games on Saturday.
It is important to Oro Valley Lacrosse and our good standing in the league that our teams and families follow these rules in order to comply with the AYL and the town of Glendale. We'd like to show our support for the AYL and town's efforts in keeping everyone safe while still giving the boys a chance to play.
They are as follows:
- Limited spectator attendance - just one spectator per player, and this spectator will NOT be able to enter the field and will view the games from off the field - on the sidewalk, behind the fence, or from the parking lot.
- No gathering - there will be no pop-up tent or gathering of the team before or between games. The Teams are to show up, play two games back to back, and then leave. (I'm still waiting to hear if early arrival for warmups is considered "gathering" and if we are to arrive early or not.)
- Water bottles on the field only; no bags or other items to be brought to the field. Players should dress out at your vehicle prior to going with the team to the field.
- Masks - Players are required to wear a mask going to and from the field, and any time in between games; masks while playing are optional; Spectators are required to wear masks and stand distanced.
Glendale Youth Sports Complex (be sure to include "Youth" if you are searching for this on a map or internet)
6044 N 91st Ave.
Glendale, AZ 85305
The Complex is just outside of the University of Phoenix stadium (where AZ Cardinals play) and off the 101. There are 5 fields. It is approximately a 2 hour drive from Naranja Park to the Complex in Glendale.
Once we have the revised schedule, I'll be able to let you know what time to arrive and which fields we'll be playing on.
I will keep in communication as information comes to me.
We cannot thank you enough for your patience and understanding. Obviously with the pandemic there are a few extra hoops the leagues have to consider in order to keep everyone as safe as possible while still allowing play for the teams.
In a separate email, I will send the updated health and safety guidelines from the AYL that apply to games and practices where specific locations don't have more strict guidelines. In the case of Glendale, we must follow their guidelines listed above first, and then refer to the AYL guidelines.
Thanks so much,
