by posted 01/21/2021

Hi everyone,

Friday practice, 22 January, will be just 1 hour - 5:30 - 6:30 pm.

Tomorrow I'll send out a list of players and jersey numbers, so you'll know who's who on the field during games.

Saturday Games Update
by posted 01/20/2021

Hi everyone,

The final schedule for our boys 12U is:

12:00 pm - Field 2A - playing Mesa

1:00 pm - Field 4A - playing Scottsdale

Unless we hear otherwise, please arrive at 11:00 am in order to have time to get gear on and warm up (if we are allowed prior to the games.)

**Please let us know ASAP if your player will be in attendance.  You can do this by texting or emailing me, or by marking your attendance through the SportsSignUpPlay app.  The games are now on the schedule.  (For those of you who have already notified me, thank you!  I've marked your attendance already so no need to send again.)

Glendale Youth Sports Complex

6044 N 91st Ave.

Glendale, AZ 85305

Approximately 2 hour drive from Oro Valley.

I will send in a separate email a map attachment along with the AYL health guidelines for general lacrosse play.

Glendale issued specific guidelines for our games on Saturday:

It is important to Oro Valley Lacrosse and our good standing in the league that our teams and families follow these rules in order to comply with the AYL and the town of Glendale.  We'd like to show our support for the AYL and town's efforts in keeping everyone safe while still giving the boys a chance to play.

They are as follows:

- Limited spectator attendance - just one spectator per player, and this spectator will NOT be able to enter the field and will view the games from off the field - on the sidewalk, behind the fence, or from the parking lot.

- No gathering - there will be no pop-up tent or gathering of the team before or between games.    The Teams are to show up, play two games back to back, and then leave. (I'm still waiting to hear if early arrival for warmups is considered "gathering" and if we are to arrive early or not.)

- Water bottles on the field only; no bags or other items to be brought to the field.  Players should dress out at your vehicle prior to going with the team to the field.

- Masks - Players are required to wear a mask going to and from the field, and any time in between games;  masks while playing are optional;  Spectators are required to wear masks and stand distanced.

Thank you everyone,

Sara

Saturday Games - Health Update
by posted 01/19/2021

Hi everyone,

We are still awaiting the final schedule for Saturday.  We are TENTATIVELY scheduled for 2 games back to back at 12pm and 1pm.  Again, this is TENTATIVE and could change.  The Arizona Youth Lacrosse (AYL) league has not sent out any update around games times just yet, but we are expecting them to.  I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything different on this.

The Town of Glendale has issued specific Health and Safety rules for our games on Saturday.

Location

Glendale Youth Sports Complex (be sure to include "Youth" if you are searching for this on a map or internet)

6044 N 91st Ave.

Glendale, AZ 85305

The Complex is just outside of the University of Phoenix stadium (where AZ Cardinals play) and off the 101.  There are 5 fields.  It is approximately a 2 hour drive from Naranja Park to the Complex in Glendale.

Once we have the revised schedule, I'll be able to let you know what time to arrive and which fields we'll be playing on.

I will keep in communication as information comes to me.

We cannot thank you enough for your patience and understanding.  Obviously with the pandemic there are a few extra hoops the leagues have to consider in order to keep everyone as safe as possible while still allowing play for the teams.

In a separate email, I will send the updated health and safety guidelines from the AYL that apply to games and practices where specific locations don't have more strict guidelines.  In the case of Glendale, we must follow their guidelines listed above first, and then refer to the AYL guidelines.

Thanks so much,

Sara

Saturday Game Update
by posted 01/16/2021

Good Morning,

As of now, the league is still planning on having games next Saturday, January 23, in Glendale.  We do not have exact locations or times, just yet.  They are meeting on January 18 and will most likely get back to us after this.  Of course, dates, times and locations could easily change so we appreciate your patience.  We'll provide updates as soon as we are able.

In the meantime, and in order to prepare in case the games are confirmed for next Saturday in Glendale, please let me know separately (email, text) on whether or not your player can be there.

Thank you,

Sara Pike

Lost Tote/Other Info
by posted 01/15/2021

Hi everyone,

My gray tote bag that I use to carry team stuff in has gone missing.  I last had it at the beginning of practice on Wednesday, but don't recall leaving with it.  Wondering if any of you happened to see it and pick it up.  Please let me know.  Thanks!

I am also getting more info on whether or not we have games starting next Saturday.  Currently there is nothing on the schedule on our page, but I'll let you know as soon as I have any details.

Thanks,

Sara Pike
